Be that Child, forever

In the womb of Mother Darkness,
a tiny bright light did glow;
tossed and turned by time and tide,
the tiny light, however, did grow.

Slow and steady, it shone ahead,
ignoring despair, focusing on hope instead;
For the child must show the way,
must look forward and not think of yesterday.

The past is gone, lost beyond recall,
fading pictures, dulling pain are all that echo,
in a large and otherwise empty hall.

Lose not yourself in the shadows of grief,
they will pull you down, bring you no relief.

Turn over a new leaf,
turn to self belief.
